MECA is excited to welcome Waed Abbas to the MECA staff! Waed’s family is from the Old City of Jerusalem. She has years of experience in human rights, development, and translation and brings a passion for justice to the work. She is working on her Master’s Degree in Humanitarian Action with a focus on Statelessness and Forced Migration.

“It’s only been a few months since I’ve joined MECA’s team, and I’ve already learned so much about my country and community. I’ve met different people, organizations, and initiatives all over—from Hebron to Jerusalem to Nablus and Ramallah. Working with MECA, is not just a typical day at the office. On the contrary, I’m part of this entire network of people working for the children of Palestine and beyond. I’ve always aimed to have a job where I can continue to learn while I offer what experience I have, and I was able to find that in MECA.”
