In the north of Gaza where people are barely surviving on plants and animal feed, the MECA team delivered fresh vegetable parcels to 2,500 families!
This felt like a small miracle. Actually, it is an example of the incredible resourcefulness and determination of MECA staff and partners in Gaza.
Now, as people in Gaza are being bombed and hundreds of thousands of people are displaced again both in Rafah and in northern Gaza, I’m asking you to do two things to stand with MECA staff, partners, and all the people of Gaza.
#1 Take action today by contacting your U.S. representatives and tell them to End U.S. Military Funding to Israel!
#2 Make a contribution to support MECA’s life-saving work in Gaza.
Just a few days ago I had the chance to speak on the phone with one of MECA’s longtime partners, a mother of three young girls. She said:
“These actions by students and people all over the world are lifting us up and encouraging our steadfastness. Sometimes the voices of the protesters become louder than the bombs we hear every minute.”
Your solidarity with the people of Gaza and your actions help people survive. We have the momentum now for a permanent- ceasefire. History has taught us that it is people’s actions that change policies and stop crimes.
Gaza needs us to continue to do whatever we can.In solidarity,
Zeiad
