NOAM CHOMSKY is professor, social critic, political activist, historian, and ground-breaking linguist, as well as author of over 150 books. One of the most influential public intellectuals in the world, he’s an unapologetic critic of US foreign policy, global capitalism and corporate mass media. Currently he teaches linguistics at the University of Arizona, and he is Professor Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
His most recent books include Climate Crisis and the Global Green New Deal: The Political Economy of Saving the Planet (2020) and Consequences of Capitalism: Manufacturing Discontent and Resistance (2021). Chomsky is a founding member of MECA’s Advisory Board.
NOURA ERAKAT is author of the award-winning Justice for Some: Law As Politics in the Question of Palestine (Stanford University Press, 2019), as well as a human rights attorney and Assistant Professor at Rutgers University. She is also a Co-Founding Editor of Jadaliyya e-zine and an Editorial Committee member of the Journal of Palestine Studies. Erakat released a pedagogical project on the Gaza Strip & Palestine, including the documentary, “Gaza In Context,” that rehabilitates Israel’s wars on Gaza within a settler-colonial framework; she also produced the short video, “Black Palestinian Solidarity.” Currently she’s a Visiting Fellow in the Religion, Conflict, and Peace Initiative at Harvard Divinity School.
