You know that people in Gaza are starving.
Until earlier this month, Israel was only allowing 100-200 trucks of aid in a day, when at least 500 trucks of aid are needed just to meet people’s basic needs. But now, even that has practically stopped.
Four aid trucks came in one day this week. Just nine trucks came in a few days later.
Israel is using starvation as a weapon in Gaza as they continue their brutal attacks by land, air, and sea in every area of the Gaza Strip.
MECA is already getting produce to thousands of families in Gaza every week. Over the last two weeks we reached 12,500 families in Rafah, Khan Younis, and Deir El-Balah governates. As the limited amount of food from aid trucks is running out in Gaza, we have a plan to get fresh vegetables to 1,000 families every day.
With your contribution now, MECA can buy produce from local farmers in Gaza and bring it to people who have lost everything.
This is difficult and dangerous work. Israeli bombs, snipers, and tanks can come at any time. Many farms have been destroyed or abandoned. Many roads are blocked by tanks or badly damaged.
We don’t know how long this will go on. We do know that people desperately need food and with your support again now, MECA is able to get it to them.
Many thanks.
In solidarity,
Zeiad Abbas Shamrouch
