Dear Friend,
These quotes from Palestinian American youth show why it’s so important for Palestinian and other Arab youth to be seen and respected—in the school community and in the curriculum.
And, as I’m sure you agree, it’s important for all students to learn about Palestine, see the parallels between the US and Israel, and deepen their understanding of the struggle for human rights and liberation.
That’s why the Middle East Children’s Alliance started the Teach Palestine Project more than a decade ago—and that’s why we are writing to you today.

The Lannan Foundation has offered to match every donation to the Teach Palestine Project up to a total of $20,000. That’s $40,000 and we can accomplish a lot with that. |
That means your donation now will be doubled so that we can continue working with teachers and teacher educators all over the country to:
- Collaborate on curriculum that connects Palestine to critical issues in local communities.
- Provide curriculum and resources for teaching and learning about Palestine through the Teach Palestine Project website.
- Lead workshops on teaching Palestine.
- Support teachers and administrators facing Zionist backlash.
- Ensure that Palestine is included in Ethnic Studies programs.
One of our most exciting new programs is supporting teachers who want to teach Determined to Stay: Palestinian Youth Fight for Their Village, by Jody Sokolower, Teach Palestine Project Co-Coordinator.
Your contribution now of $25, $50, or even $100 will be matched dollar for dollar.
If you’re able to make a donation of $300, you can provide a middle or high school a class set of Determined to Stay, including books, curriculum, and coaching.
And, for a gift of $50 or more, we’d be pleased to send you a signed copy of Determined to Stay.
Whatever amount you are able to give will make it possible for teachers to provide students with an understanding of the connections between their own lives and the lives of young people in Palestine.
In solidarity,
Samia Shoman, Co-Coordinator, Teach Palestine Project
Jody Sokolower, Co-Coordinator, Teach Palestine Project
P.S. Please give now so that the Teach Palestine Project can receive $20,000 in additional matching funds and reach many more teachers, teacher educators, and, ultimately, thousands of young people. Many thanks.
