Young girl in Gaza jumps from hoop to hoop during psychosocial activityDonate to our $50,000 Match Challenge to help children and families
MATCH MY GIFT

I am very pleased to tell you that two generous MECA supporters have offered to match your year-end contribution to MECA!

Pat Leiser of Oregon and another anonymous supporter are offering a total of $50,000 as a challenge match. Pat Leiser is contributing to the match because “we need to do everything we can to meet children’s basic needs.”

So, please be sure to give now—or any time before midnight December 31—so your donation will be doubled!

Trump’s outrageous announcement declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel is just about all the news we’ve gotten about Palestine or Palestinians lately.

You’re not reading much about the families in Gaza who are struggling through the cold, dark winter with just a few hours of electricity per day…

… or the young boys in Hebron, Jerusalem and elsewhere in Palestine who are grabbed off the street or taken from their homes in the middle of the night, arrested and detained…

You’re probably not hearing much about the children who don’t have clean drinking water or medicine for common diseases…

… or seeing news of the refugee children from Syria who can’t go to school in Lebanon because they can’t even afford the small costs or they don’t have the right papers.

These realities may not have “news value” but I know you are aware of them and want to do what you can to help.

I’m asking you to make a year-end contribution—which will be matched dollar for dollar—to help MECA provide:

  • Small rechargeable electricity units for homes in Gaza
  • Legal and psychological support for children who’ve been arrested
  • Warm winter clothes, water purification systems, and medical aid
  • Academic classes and recreation for children

And many more things every child needs and deserves.

I live in Bethlehem, Palestine with my family. I see firsthand the violence and hardships of life under Israeli occupation and apartheid. I also see how your generous support makes life better for so many children and families.

Now your support will go twice as far. Please make your gift now.

In solidarity,

Josie Shields-Stromsness
