May 2012: 40 foot container en route to Lebanon!
MECA sent a large shipment to Lebanon in 2010 that was distributed to community organizations in Palestinian refugee camps as well as an organization working with Iraqi refugees in Lebanon. In December 2011, MECA Director Barbara Lubin met with more than 20 health care workers representating these organizations. They described the challenges in their work and their need for more medicine and medical supplies, especially wheelchairs. MECA once again is responding to their needs and a 40 foot container with $545,965 worth of medical supplies and equipment is en route to Lebanon. Included in this shipment are wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches along with many other urgently needed medical supplies.
