Palestinian Counseling Center
West Bank
The Middle East Children's Alliance and the Palestinian Counseling Center (PCC) have been partnering on projects since MECA's founding in 1988. Over the years, we have contributed to their work by funding two Recreation and Enrichment rooms at hospitals in the West Bank, sending donations of Halloween costumes for their play therapy programs, arranging for volunteer interns to provide professional support, hosting staff from the PCC in the United States to talk about their programs combating the mental health impact of occupation, and providing small grants for their programs with children and youth throughout the West Bank.
The PCC is a community based counseling and consultancy organization that advocates for positive mental health and well being for the Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT). They have field offices throughout the West Bank including in Jenin, Jerusalem, Nablus, Qalqilia and Ramallah.
Since its establishment, the PCC has been working with the most marginalized and underprivileged Palestinians providing them with quality care while also building the skills and capacities of those who work with these individuals and groups. The PCC is one of the few professional mental health organizations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
